Be advised that the FSIN recognizes that costs incurred during the current COVID-19 Pandemic event are extraordinary and unprecedented for First Nations across Canada. First Nation governments preparing a pandemic response for their communities will incur extraordinary costs through their individual response efforts. FSIN Chief Bobby Cameron has recommended that all First Nations track all costs associated with the expenses incurred as they respond to this pandemic event. First Nations must make every effort to limit and contain coronavirus infections, thereby limiting potential harm to their communities. In regard to costs, please see the attached First Nations Community Guide which includes a draft template for First Nations to use when submitting for costs reimbursements to Indigenous Services Canada. Please note that due to the rapidly escalating events the draft Application form will be provided in the current format. Once a finalized version is received from the Government of Canada and/or ISC, it will be immediately provided to First Nations.
